Well been back at work nearly 2 months now, and B has been at nursery for the same amount of time. He took to nursery really well the first couple of weeks, then he caught an awful bug. We had everything at once. I knew it would happen, but I still cursed and swore about the nursery for a few days. Anyway, he recovered and since then (touch wood) we've had no further problems.
Our routine now on the days I work is pretty good. We get up, B has his milk, we get ready and I drop him of at nursery for 7.30am with the other bleary eyed parents. I then head home/to the office to work.
Yes I work from home two days a week and go into the office one day a week. I enjoy this arrangement very much, believe it or not I am a lot more productive at home than in the office. Peace and quiet. No office 'politics'to put up with, but I am still in regular contact with my colleagues.
When I go and pick B up from nursery he doesn't want to come home. He's made friends and enjoys playing outside in the lovely nursery garden.
I do not feel guilty about being a working mum, in fact I feel very lucky. I have the best of both worlds. B is meeting other kids and learning new things all the time. He is happy. And me, mummy gets to keep my some independence by still working, earning and progressing in my career. 3 days work is enough. I the. Get to spend 2 days with both my boys and 2 days just me and B. I absolutely love it.
